Module Overview

|
|
|
The Automated Network Optimization Module is one module of the WiNeS
Platform. It supports the QoS driven optimization of the network
layout based on both planning and measurement data. The empowered
optimization process is fully integrated with common network planning
systems and databases.

Values and Benefits

|
|
|
Network optimization is the process of steadily
improving the network setup from the planning stage up to the live
optimization of the running network. Network optimization is necessary
because the initial network planning can never be good enough, partly
due to insufficient planning data, partly due to insufficiencies of
the planning tools. The key objectives of
network optimization are thus:
 | Cut down operational and capital expenditures
significantly |
 | Increase data service revenues and maintain QoS
without investments in new sites |
 | Reduce the time-to-market for new network setups
and new services significantly |
 | Evolve the network in a controlled manner in
accordance with the marketing traffic forecast |
 | Ensure a leading edge position regarding network
quality and capacity against competing networks |
