31-Oct-02:
Radioplan adds Complete ATOLL Interoperability to its Latest Version
of the WiNeS Platform |
| Dresden,
Germany. --Oct. 31, 2002-- Radioplan, a leading provider of dynamic
network planning and optimization solutions, today announced the
availability of the ATOLL Import Module (AIM). The AIM that is part of
the WiNeS platform that enables third-generation (3G) UMTS/WCDMA
wireless network operators to validate their network configurations
planned with FORSK's static wireless network planning solution ATOLL
with respect to QoS and service availability under fully dynamic
conditions.
The AIM supports our customers to seamlessly
transfer network configurations between ATOLL and WiNeS in typically
less than 5 minutes. The site configuration data, antenna diagrams,
network layout, pathloss information, service specific traffic
matrices, and clutter data can be transferred in one step guided by
the AIM. The underlying complexity is practically invisible for the
end user., said Johannes Huebner, Radioplans executive manager.
Configuration data that are additionally required for dynamic
network analysis are automatically amended by suitable templates from
a library that is customizable according to the users
requirements.
Prior to its release within the WiNeS 1.3 platform,
the AIM has been extensively tested and evaluated by a leading
European 3G network operator. The simplicity of use was especially
appreciated by the customer, and the AIM could be productively used
right from the time of installation. Thus the AIM further enhances the
integration of the network planning and optimization processes at the
network operator to support the entire network life cycle.
WiNeS 1.3 is a fully GIS-enabled and
state-of-the-art platform that enables network operators to
efficiently investigate the network configuration data and QoS results
obtained by emulating the entire radio access network behavior over
time. The dynamic UMTS simulation engine now supports all the
technical features required for the verification and QoS validation of
any currently deployed UMTS network.
