Dresden,
Germany. --January 27, 2004-- Radioplan, a leading supplier of 3G radio
network planning, optimization, and measurement analysis solutions,
announced today that their commercially available WiNeS UMTS
optimization solution has cut the cycle time for tuning the radio access
network of a large city by over 80%.WiNeS, a
sophisticated, fully-featured 3G optimization toolset that has been
developed to its current level of advanced functionality over several
years, is available for use in-service today. This fact has generated
immense interest in Radioplans unique solution.
Trials with major network operators and equipment
vendors have shown that Radioplans proprietary software technology and
flexible interfaces allowed for an exceptionally smooth integration of
the WiNeS toolset into the deployment process, and an extremely fast
turnaround time for optimized radio network configuration results.
Johannes Huebner, Radioplans Executive Manager,
commented Radioplans optimization solutions are designed to make life
easy for our customers. By thinking about the entire optimization
process and listening carefully to the needs of vendors and operators,
we have removed a large chunk of time and created an enormous advantage
for our partners.
Radioplans WiNeS platform cuts redundant steps from
the optimization process by bridging the gap between planning and
measurement data, and by integrating the stages required into a single
platform. This approach has the dual advantage of eliminating
unproductive conversion stages while updating planning models with real
world data. The subsequent efficiency of the system greatly accelerates
the availability of data for evaluation and optimization.

behind Radioplans optimization solution is available on request at

Radioplan will be presenting the technology behind
their integrated UMTS planning, measurement analysis and optimization
solution WiNeS at the SMi W-CDMA Conference in London, UK, 16-17
February 2004, and demonstrating the WiNeS platform at the 3GSM World
Congress in Cannes, France 23-26 February 2004 (Hall 2, Stand F59).
